One of my favorite things to do when I’m in a new city is find a coffee shop or cafe, grab a table and blend in with the locals. This gives me an opportunity to decompress after traveling, allowing me to organize my thoughts & plans. The laid back vibe in a coffee shop translates across the globe--No exception to this universal rule is Joe’s Coffee in Dublin. With two locations in the city, this place is the epitome of modern, classic & cool.
Wielding Ireland’s first La Marzocco Strada EP, known in espresso circles as the “Ferrari of Espresso Machines”, Joe’s can produce a perfectly delicate and balanced shot. Every. Single. Time.
The filter-brewed coffee is made with beans sourced from small independent craft roasters across Europe and served with rich organic Irish milk from Donegal (that I should also mention, is served at a lovely 65 degrees!). It would be hard to find a better cup of coffee in the city. Do you like your coffee served a particular way? No problem for Joe’s. Their motto: Enjoy your cup of Joe . . . your way! If coffee isn’t your scene, they serve pots of Barry’s tea, loose teas & have a selection of cold beverages.
On the foodie side, Joe’s offers a selection of delicious sandwiches like the “Joe Irish” made with Wicklow farmhouse Brie, spiced beef & balsamic onions. If you want something lighter, try a super healthy kale salad or a detoxing, organic cold-pressed juice from Alchemy Juice Co. (http://www.alchemyjuice.ie).
So if you need of a break from sightseeing and walking--make your way to Joe’s. Have a chat with the ultra cool barista’s, grab a table and watch the city pass by. You won’t be disappointed.
